The Western Terminus of the very scenic highway 55 is at US 19 in Muddlety.
The terminus is at a diamond interchange with the Pennsylvania to Florida
highway. The interchange which is just around the bend opened in
the late 1990s.
The Eastern Terminus of WV 55 is at the Virginia State Line a few miles
to the east of Wardensville. Below, H.B.
Elkins has three photos that deal with the Eastern Terminus of WV 55.
First, the Welcome To Virginia sign. Next, WV 55 enters into Frederick
County, VA. Finally, the first VA 55 Shield.

In addition, on a snowy day in 2004, H.B. snapped a photo of the first
WV 55 shield, as seen below.

WV 55 continues as VA 55 to its Eastern Terminus at US 29 in the Northern
Virginia town of Gainesville. If you are able to get a photo of either
end, please e-mail me.
