Wisconsin State Trunk Highway 172

Western Terminus: WI 54, Hobart, Brown County.
Eastern Terminus: I-43, Bellevue, Brown County.


WI 172 is composed of two distinctive segments.  Between WI 54 and the US 41 freeway, WI 172 is a two- to four-lane arterial that serves Austin Straubel International Airport.  From US 41 to I-43, WI 172 is a four- to six-lane freeway that serves as a southern by-pass of Green Bay.

Western Terminus


The Western Terminus of WI 172 is at WI 54 in Hobart.  Note that a JCT CTH-E shield appears with the END WI 172 shield assembly, as CTH-E meets with WI 172 less than a block to the east of the signalized intersection between WI 172 and WI 54.

Eastern Terminus


 
The Eastern Terminus of WI 172 is at a semi-directional "Y" interchange with I-43 (Exit 180) in Bellevue.  These two pictures show the signage in place along WI 172 leading up to the I-43 interchange.  An END WI 172 shield is lacking at this particular endpoint.
