South End: Stallings

WV 17 was once the routing of US 119 from Madison to Stallings until the 1990s.

(H. B. Elkins) The Northern Terminus of WV 17 is at WV 85 in Madison.

These older WV 85 are posted at the physical terminus.

At this point, US 119 would have continues straight.

(H.B. Elkins) The Southern Terminus of WV 17 is at WV 10 in Stallings. WV 17 goes under the railroad trestle.

A view of the the final yards of WV 17 and the previously mentioned railroad trestle.

(H.B. Elkins) WV 17 is part of the Hatfield/McCoy Trail. In addition, as this photo from WV 10 North proves, a truck WV 17 exists in Stallings. The truck route is signed because of the low railroad bridge that is seen in all three of the Southern Terminus photos.
