PA 60/PA TPK 60

North End: Sharon
South End: Pittsburgh's West End
Toll North End: New Castle
Toll South End: PA 51 Near Beaver Falls
Business North End: Moon Twp.
Business South End: Robinson Twp.

When completed in 1992, Toll 60 closed the gap between the two split 60's making the route one continuous highway.  The unique twist is that Route 60 is known as two separate highways, Toll and PA.

The Northern Terminus of PA 60 is located at Business US 62 in Sharon.

The Northern Terminus of PA TPK 60 is at a trumpet interchange with US 422 in New Castle.  US 422 is carried on the overpass.

The Southern Terminus of PA TPK 60 is at PA 51 near Beaver Falls.

The Northern Terminus of Business 60 is at Mainline 60 in Moon Township.  An 'End' sign is not posted here.  Business 60 until the early 90's was the mainline 60.  When the Southern Expressway was opened, the PA 60 designation moved with it.  Business 60 is slowly becoming a complete freeway itself.  Since 1999, one interchange has been opened (Ewing Rd.) and another (Airport Cargo Terminal) is being built.

The Southern Terminus of Business 60 does have an end sign.  It is located on the ramp from to PA 60 South, shown below.

This interchange was built over what was once the site of White Swan Park.

The Southern Terminus of PA 60 is at the West End Circle in Pittsburgh.  PA 60 intersects US 19/PA 51 here.  The building in the background is the new Pittsburgh Steelers Stadium.  By 2005, the Southern Terminus of PA 60 will change slightly as the 70 year old West End Circle will be replaced by an interchange.  PA 60's terminus may be considered at the river level PA 837 (W. Carson St.) when this project is complete.  What is unique for now is that both PA TPK 60 and PA 60's Southern Terminus is at PA 51.
