The Western Terminus of PA 31 is at PA 136 in West Newton. PA 136 West continues straight and West Newton is at the bottom of the hill. Until 1960, this was the eastern split of PA 31 and 71. PA 71 would continue on PA 136's path towards Greensburg. PA 31 West would continue to Washington via current-day PA 136 West, then multiplex with PA 18 North until splitting off along current-day PA 844 West's alignment to the West Virginia Line. PA 71 was decommissioned completely.
The Eastern Terminus of PA 31 is at US 30 in Bedford County. The location is about 4 miles north of Manns Choice. A great shot of the signs leading up to the intersection from Barb and John.
