PA 290
|
West End: Erie
|
East End: Harbor Green Township
|
PA 290 was first signed in the Spring of 2006. It is the first
newly signed route since PA 424 in 2000. PA
290's tenure as the state's newest signed state route will not last long;
however, PA TPK 576 is scheduled to make its debut in October 2006.

The Western Terminus of PA 290 is at Interstate 79 in Erie. PA 290
is multiplexed with PA 5 through Erie after leaving
the Bayfront Connector. The 'END' sign is located at the intersection
of Lincoln Ave. and W. 12th St. (PA 5).
(David Brunot)
The first East PA 290 shield is pared with an East PA 5 shield just after
W. 12th Street crosses over Interstate 79. The first mention of PA
290 from PA 5 East is the Junction PA 290 trailblazer that is located a
few hundred feet before the signs above.
(David Brunot)
As you can see, PA 290 will appear straight ahead. Interstate 79
runs below PA 5.

The Eastern Terminus of PA 290 is just beyond Interstate 90 in Harbor Green
Township. Like its western end, PA 290 is multiplexed - this time
with PA 430 - at its east end. The 'END' PA
290 and East PA 430 signs are located just east of the I-90 interchange
with PA 430.
(David Brunot)
The first West PA 290 shield is paired with a West PA 430 shield.
The interchange with I-90 is in the immediate background.
