PA (SR) 283 is secretly PA (SR) 300. This is done so there is no conflict with SR 283 which is I-283.

(Alex Nitzman) The Western Terminus of PA 283 is a rare case of a Pennsylvania Route not ending at a PA, US or Interstate Highway. The Western Terminus of PA 283 is Eisenhower Blvd. in Highspire. Technically, one could say that PA 283 should actually end at Interstate 283 about 1/4th of a mile behind this photo.

(Alex Nitzman) The Eastern Terminus of PA 283 is at US 30 in Lancaster. Above, is some of the overhead signs present on PA 283's approach to US 30.
