PA 281

North End: Stoystown
South End: WV line near Markleysburg

The Northern Terminus of PA 281 is at US 30 near Stoystown.  This photo was taken by Ed Wilson.  Until the late 60s, PA 281 from this point south to PA 523 was known as PA 53.

The Southern Terminus of PA 281 is at the West Virginia border near Markleysburg.  PA 281 becomes WV 26 at this point.  Pete Zapadka was able to take three photographs of this border crossing.  Above, PA 281 crosses into the Mountain State at the pavement change and becomes WV 26.

Here, Pete shows the beginning of PA 281 as the roadway enters Pennsylvania.  The border monument has recently been placed here.
