North End: Ebensburg

South End: Maryland Line South of Wellersburg

(The Bee Family) This photo is of the Northern Terminus of PA 160. The road it intersects is the former alignment of US 22. The 2001 Official State Map shows PA 160 ending at currrent day US 22. But it looks like PA 160 goes just a bit further to end at this location. The Ebensburg area has had some highway shuffles involving US 22, 219, 422 & PA 160 over the past 15 years. Most of this is due to completion of the US 219 freeway north of Ebensburg which led to the truncation of US 422 to the US 219 freeway rather than US 22.

Barb writes on how you can find this end and the old US 22 through here: "If you are travelling eastbound on Route 22, and get off the first Ebensburg exit, it would take you to the part of Old Route 22 that PA 160 ends at in this photo. In this photo, (you can't see it) 422 is near the top of the photo by the building in the upper left side of the photo. Got you confused yet? If the trees were cut down and the buildings removed you could see 422."

(David Brunot) The Southern Terminus of PA 160 is at the Maryland State Line south of Wellersburg. PA 160 transforms to Maryland 47 at this point. There is not an 'END' sign present. However, the LWS 'END' and state line marker make up for it.

An odd thing about this end, is that the first PA 160 sign sits inside the Maryland line.
