U.S. Route 250 |
|
Western Terminus |
|
The western terminus of US 250 is at US 6 in Sandusky, one mile west of the main access road to one of Ohio's most popular destinations,
Cedar Point Amusement Park. Downtown Sandusky is approximately 0.5 mile
west of this intersection via US 6. |

Eastern Entrance |
|
US 250 meets US 40 at an interchange with OH 7
in Bridgeport. From there, US 250 and US 40 concurrently cross the Ohio River and head into Wheeling, West Virginia. The US 40 and US 250 East
shields in front of the OH 7 overpass each feature a directional plate with the first letter larger than the rest. This sort of directional plate
is starting to appear for the first time in Ohio, where numerous other states such as West Virginia and Pennsylvania have been observing this
signing practice for a few years. |
Here is the scene along the westbound US 40 / US 250 multiplex as it prepares to depart Wheeling Island
and cross the Ohio into Ohio. The old bridge which used to carry US 40 / US 250 over the Ohio River still
stands today, immediately north of the current bridge. A JCT OH 7 0.5 mile guide sign stands on the West
Virginia side of the bridge. |
No sooner then the US 40 / US 250 multiplex exits the Ohio River bridge, it immediately has an at-grade
railroad crossing. Just thereafter is the OH 7 interchange. The ramp to OH 7 North is accessed by a right turn
in between the railroad tracks and the overpass, OH 7 South can be reached by a left turn after the overpass, and US 250
splits off from US 40 by a right turn after the overpass. |
