Ohio Route 49

Southern Terminus: US 35, Dayton. | Northern Terminus: Michigan State Line, M-49, 6 miles northeast of Columbia.

Southern Terminus

OH 49's southern terminus is at US 35 in the west side of Dayton. There is no END signage to be found for OH 49 at this endpoint. Until 2000, OH 49 was routed along Salem Avenue into downtown Dayton, where it came to an end at I-75. When an extension of the US 35 freeway opened that year, OH 49 was moved onto a new alignment along the west side of Dayton to hook in with the end of the US 35 freeway. The former routing along Salem Avenue was turned back to local control at that time.

Northern Terminus

The northern terminus of OH 49 is at the Michigan State Line, northeast of Columbia in the far northwestern corner of the Buckeye State. M-49 takes over for OH 49 at this point. The crossing of the state line northbound is marked by an ENTER HILLSDALE COUNTY sign, followed by the first reassurance marker for M-49 North.
