Ohio Route 43

Southern Terminus: OH 7, Steubenville, Jefferson County. | Northern Terminus: OH 14, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County.

Southern Terminus

The southern terminus of OH 43 is at OH 7 in downtown Steubenville. This endpoint features a rarity: not one, but rather two END shield assemblies! The first one, shown close-up in the second photo, is on the near right corner of the intersection. The second END sign assembly, featured in the third photo, stands on the back right corner. The waters of the Ohio River flow not too far behind the southern terminus of OH 43. Just beyond the river is the West Virginia shore.

From the perspective of OH 7 North is this guide sign announcing the start of OH 43 North. The building behind the sign is a jail.

Northern Terminus

The northern terminus of OH 43 is at OH 14 in the southeastern corner of Cleveland. While the southern end of the route has two END shields, the northern endpoint lacks an END shield. The arrow plate beneath the JCT OH 14 marker here is typical of older arrow plates, with two separate arrows denoting the direction in which OH 14 proceeds through the intersection.
