Ohio Route 120 |
OH 121 > |
| From the 1940s through the 1960s, OH 120 served as the easternmost leg of a three-state Route 120 that started in Elkhart, Indiana, headed east to the northeastern corner of the state and into Michigan, straddling the Ohio State Line and then finally ducked into Ohio between Morenci and Lyons, and headed into Toledo. In the early 1960s, Michigan decommissioned its section of the route. M-120 was then applied a few years later to a highway in another part of the state. Meanwhile, the Indiana and Ohio sections of this Route 120 remain intact today. |

The western terminus of OH 120 is at
the Michigan State Line between Lyons and Morenci, Michigan. The Michigan
counterpart to OH 120 is county-maintained Morenci Rd., the former
M-120. The first photo shows the final OH 120 marker, sans a directional
banner, located 0.25 mile before the border. The second photo is a
rather wintry scene showing the physical end of OH 120, which is marked
by a small ENTER LENAWEE COUNTY sign. |

These next two pictures
set the scene for the start of OH 120 in the eastbound direction. The
sign indicating the entry of the roadway into the Buckeye State is featured
in the third photo, while the fourth photo shows the first OH 120 East
reassurance marker, located about 0.25 mile after the state line.

The eastern terminus of
OH 120 is at OH 65 near downtown Toledo. Beyond the intersection, the
Cherry Street Bridge carries the roadway of the same name across the
Maumee River to the east side of Toledo.
