Southern Entrance

There is currently no coverage of the Southern Entrance of I-71 into Ohio.

If you can get any photos of the point where I-71 crosses from Kentucky into Ohio, concurrently with I-75 at Cincinnati, please contact Dan.

Northern Terminus

The northern terminus of I-71 is at I-90 (Exit 170B) in Cleveland. Here is the sign truss on I-90 West at the interchange which marks the northern terminus of I-77. I-71 South begins 1.5 miles ahead.

I-90 West enters into the I-71 interchange with four lanes. When the lanes partition, I-90 West maintains the two right lanes, while I-71 South gets three lanes. The right-center lane may be used for either I-71 or I-90.

Here is the gantry in place on I-90 West at the I-71 split. I-90 West traffic must endure a slow, 40 m.p.h. curve, before merging in with lanes from I-490 West, which also ends at this interchange.
