US 264

US 264 is yet another one of "North Carolina's Own" US Highways.  It runs from the eastern outskirts of Raleigh to just before crossing the Croatan Sound in Manns Harbor.  It is the main route for Raleigh east to Wilson then to Greenville and finally to Washington.  From Washington to its end in Manns Harbor, US 264 is the back road to the Outer Banks a more isolated two lane alternative than its parent route, US 64, to the North.  Although the highway may be one of the shortest US highways in North Carolina, it does feature numerous Alternate or Business Routes.  If you are able to document the business or alternate routes, please fire me an e-mail
