US 258
US 258 is unique nationally because both termini are
located near or on military installations. The national northern
terminus is at Ft. Monroe in Virginia. North Carolina is home of
the national southern terminus in Jacksonville, home of Camp Lejune.
US 258 may have Business Routes in Murfeesboro and Kinston. If you

National Southern Terminus: Jacksonville

US 258 ends at US 17 in Jacksonville. The final 15 miles of the highway
from Richlands are multiplexed with NC 24. NC 24 continues on its
own to US 70 in Morehead City. I'm in favor of extending US 258 to
that point and having NC 24 end in Richlands.
