The Northern Terminus of NC 9 is at a very unique stone archway in the
mountain community of Montreat.

The backside of the stone gateway. Trucks wishing to enter the village
are detoured around the structure along a road that runs behind the visitors
center.

The Southern Terminus of NC 9 is at the South Carolina line south of the
crossroads of Cross Keys. The historical
marker notes Governor Tryon's March surveying the Cherokee boundary
in 1767.

The Southern Terminus of SC 9 is at Ocean Blvd. in Cherry Grove Beach.
Although unmarked, SC 65 begins with a right turn at the light. The
Atlantic Ocean is immediately behind the terminus.

Looking down the start of SC 9. There is not an 'END' sign present
at the terminus. Cherry Grove Beach is a personal favorite spot as
it is where my family spent and still spends many vacations.
