NC 72's Western Terminus is at NC 211 in Red Springs.
This is also the location for the Western Terminus of NC
710. However, the below photo seems to indicate that NC
710 used to end at its intersection with NC 72 which is about two miles
to the south.

As you can see, the text reads 'TO EAST NC 710'

The Eastern Terminus of NC 72 is at US 74 near Boardman. NC
130 East joins US 74 less than 300 yards east of NC 72's east end.
It will be interesting to see how this intersection will be upgraded when
US 74 is upgraded to Interstate 74.
