NC 705

North End: Seagrove
South End: Eagle Springs

NC 705 was designated in 2002 as the Pottery Highway.  The highway goes through the heart of the state's well known Pottery Region of Moore and Randolph Counties.

The Northern Terminus of NC 705 is at US 220A in Seagrove.  NC 705 also goes through the town of Whynot.  According to The North Carolina Gazetteer: A Dictionary of Tar Heel Places, by William S. Powell, the town founders were at a standstill while debating on a name for the town, when someone said, "Why not name it 'Whynot'."  The founders agreed and the rest is history.

The Southern Terminus of NC 705 is at NC 211 in Eagle Springs.  NC 705 is also an NC Scenic Byway in addition to the Pottery Highway designation.

There's also a 'BEGIN' North NC 705 trailblazer at the terminus.
