Many thanks to Jimmy Storey for sending photos from both ends of NC 61.
The Northern Terminus of NC 61 is at NC 150 in Osceola. As you can see this end is rather uneventful, and an 'END' sign is not present here.
The Southern Terminus of NC 61 is at NC 62 in Kimesville. The southern end of NC 61 has a twist to it. About a quarter mile before 61 meets 62, the roadway splits. One branch connects traffic to NC 62 North while the other continues to 61 South. The 'END' and 'BEGIN' photos shown on this page are from the fork that leads to NC 62 South. Jimmy tells me that 'BEGIN' nor 'END' signs exist on the other branch, almost like a NC 61 Spur, but it is officially not. This may be the only exciting thing about an otherwise uneventful country road.
