The Northern Terminus of NC 5 is at NC 211 in the Pinehurst Area. NC 5, from US 1 to its Northern terminus, is a good alternative for traffic wanting to head west of Pinehurst and wishing to avoid the Pinehurst Traffic Circle.
NC 5's Southern terminus just appears. After crossing US 1, NC 5 winds it's way through the outskirts of Aberdeen finally ending here at Malcolm Blue Farm Road. In fact, all NC 5 trailblazers east of US 1 have no direction banners on them. Including the first NC 5 shield which is on the direct back end of the above sign.
