NC 226A

North End:  Near Little Switzerland
South End: Near Woodlawn
Mitchell County North End: Loafer's Glory
Mitchell County South End: Ledger

Not only is NC 226A the only suffixed state route in North Carolina.  The designation appears not once but twice.  The more known route exists in McDowell County.  But a lesser known 226A is marked in Mitchell County.

Near Little Switzerland, you will come across NC 226A's Northern Terminus.

The Northern Terminus of NC 226A in Mitchell County is in Loafer's Glory.  This had, until just recently, been the northern terminus of NC 80.
