The Western Terminus of the rather short NC 153 is at NC
152 near Corriher Heights. NC 153 is only about three miles long.

The first NC 153 east shield. There is not an 'END' sign present
at the terminus.

The Eastern Terminus of NC 153 is in Landis at former US 29A (Main St.).
As a result of the late 1990's decommissioning of US 29A through Rowan
County, NC 153's Eastern Terminus is one of the few non-coastal state highways
that ends at a road that is not an Interstate, US or NC State Highway.
