Here is a great shot of the Northern Terminus of NC 12 in Corolla. Alex provides a little more information about this photo. The first NC 12 south shield is about 1/2 mile behind me. North of this intersection the road continues with pavement for about 1/4 mile. North of there it's a beach road to Carava (4 wheel drives only permitted).

The Southern Terminus of NC 12 is at US 70 in Sea Level. NC 12 begins straight ahead; US 70 East bears to the right.
