| Western Terminus |
 The western end of US 72 in Mississippi is at the Tennessee State Line west of Mt. Pleasant. The state line also serves as the eastern terminus for unsigned TN 86. There are no Mississippi signs directly on the state line aside from the speed limit. The Mississippi Welcomes You sign is in the background just to the left of the "50" in the speed limit sign.
