Western Terminus

The old US 80 serves for the most part as the South Frontage Rd between Edwards and near the Natchez Trace Parkway in Clinton, with the exception of a 5 mile stretch. The old highway moves away from I-20 between mileposts 26 and 31 to cross a railroad and go through the town of Bolton. This 5 mile stretch is designated MS 890, serving as the Frontage Road Connector. The western terminus of MS 890 is where old US 80 turns southeast from I-20/US 80 near the Bolton town limits. Eastern Terminus

The eastern terminus of MS 890 is where the old highway returns to I-20 to continue as the South Frontage Rd. With the construction of the Norrell Rd interchange and the 2004 annexation by the city of Clinton, the transition back to the South Frontage Rd is located at approximately the Clinton City Limits, just west of St. Thomas Parkway. The new section of Norrell Rd, built as part of the Norrell Rd interchange project, did not get the name Norrell Rd. The old section of Norrell Rd kept that name.
