Eastern Terminus

The eastern terminus of this section is at US 45 in Tupelo. This gantry on US 45 NB is one of the first non-wire-span gantries along US 45 in the Tupelo area. Photo by Robert Lee on 1/3/2005.

This wire-hung gantry on MS 178 EB, which was not very reflective at night, has been replaced with ground-mounted signs. Photo by Robert Lee.

Missing Link
MS 178 is not signed between US 45 and MS 6 in Tupelo. Aside from some old "I-178" cutout shields on Front Street, there are no signs currently indicating that MS 178 should be signed between the US 45/ MS 178 interchange and the MS 6/MS 178 intersection.
