| Current Southern Terminus (#3) |
![]() The southern end of I-69 in Mississippi is currently posted at the intersection of MS 713 and Old MS 304 east of Robinsonville. Although the interstate ends, the highway turns west and continues "southbound" with the MS 713 designation. This is the view on I-69/MS 713 SB. It is the original sign, but MDOT moved it from the Tunica/DeSoto County Line to this point. Photo by Robert Lee on 8/25/2007. ![]() The first stand along MS 713 shield south of I-69. ![]() The southern end of I-69 in Mississippi was originally posted at the Tunica/DeSoto County Line east of Robinsonville. The roadway continues south as a fully-controlled access freeway, but with only the MS 713 designation. This is the view on I-69/MS 713 SB. When MDOT changed signage in the area as part of removing MS 304 from its old 2-lane routing, they moved the I-69 terminus signage south to Old MS 304. ![]() When I-69/MS 304 first opened, the MS 713 was not ready for traffic. As a result, I-69 ended at the MS 713 exit east of Robinsonville. This is the view on I-69 SB/MS 304 WB. Because this is only temporary, there is no formal end signage; there was only barrels and covered advance signage. Notice the lack of control cities. Both roads eventually lead to US 61, which heads south to Tunica. Photo by Robert Lee on 10/8/2006. ![]() Same location after MS 713 was opened. Notice the lack of control cities. Click to return to MS 304.![]() The northern terminus of I-69, as well as the eastern terminus of MS 304, is at I-55 in Hernando. This is the "I-69 Ends" signage (MS 304 is omitted) on I-69 NB/MS 304 EB approaching I-55. The bridge just past the "I-69 Ends" signs goes over US 51. Photo taken by Robert Lee on 4/4/2007. ![]() The original signage shows Hernando as the primary destination for I-55 South instead of Grenada or Jackson. Photo taken by Robert Lee on 4/4/2007. ![]() MDOT changed the signage to remove Hernando and Nesbit from the signs and use the more appropriate destinations of Jackson and Southaven. Photo taken by Robert Lee on 8/25/2007. ![]() Original signage at the loop ramp at the end of I-69. Nesbit was shown as a secondary destination although Nesbit is the smallest of the towns between this interchange and Memphis. Photo taken by Robert Lee on 8/25/2007. ![]() This is the view on I-55 NB south of the exit. Tunica is the control city although neither I-69 nor MS 304 go into Tunica itself. Traffic to Tunica must use US 61. Although the sign says 1 mile, it is less than 1/2 mile to the exit for the c/d ramp for the interchange. MDOT has since added a blue "Casinos" sign below this sign.
