The northern terminus of US 41 is in a very remote area near the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula, at Fort Wilkins
State Park east of Copper Harbor. The end of the route is marked by a cul-du-sac. A dirt road leads away from the cul-du-sac and heads toward the tip
of the Keewenaw Peninsula. There is no US 41 ENDS signage present here, but there is a ROAD ENDS sign at the back of the cul-du-sac.

In the middle of the cul-du-sac is a special wooden sign erected by the Keweenaw County Road Commission
which denotes this point as the start of the nearly 2,000 mile long route which will meander its way through eight states down to its ultimate destination
of Miami, Florida. (PHOTO # 2: Chris Bessert | June 1998) |

Upon turning around in the cul-du-sac, this, the first reassurance marker for US 41 South, can be seen. (PHOTO # 3: Jim Teresco | July 11, 2003) |

2 miles after it starts, US 41 meets M-26 at its northern terminus
in Copper Harbor. In front of the intersection are these guide signs, including a special one showing how much farther US 41 has to go before it reaches Miami.
At this intersection, US 41 South continues via a left turn, and M-26 South begins straight ahead. A right turn leads to the ferry to Isle Royale. (PHOTO # 4: Jim Teresco | July 11, 2003) |
