U.S. Route 223

M-1 >

Southern Entrance: OH State Line, SW of Lambertville, Monroe County. | Northern Terminus: US 127, N of Addison, Lenawee County.

Southern Entrance

US 223 meets its parent route, US 23, 5 miles north of the Ohio State Line.  US 223 is then routed onto the US 23 freeway, and the two routes concurrently head south into Ohio southwest of Lambertville.  The OHIO WELCOMES YOU sign is located in the median, in the background of this photo.

BONUS COVERAGE: US 223 only goes 0.75 mile into the Buckeye State, when it comes to an end at the interchange US 23 has with OH 51 and OH 184 in Sylvania.  An END US 223 shield is present at the end of the US 23 South off-ramp to OH 51 and OH 184.

Northern Terminus

The northern terminus of US 223 is at US 127 north of Addison.  US 223 ends just 0.5 mile shy of the junction of US 127 and US 12.

Some interesting signage appears on US 127 North approaching the starting point of US 223 South.  For the first sign announcing the upcoming intersection with US 223, there is a diamond warning sign in the orange color of a typical construction sign that has the text US 223 JUNCTION AHEAD.  Closer to the intersection, there is a lane distribution sign that, in addition to giving the required maneuver per lane, also states which route that particular lane serves.
