The western terminus of M-50 is at Exit 52 off of I-96, south of Lowell. Here is the M-50 ENDS sign located there, at the north end of the I-96 overpass. PHOTO # 1: Adrian Leskiw / Dan Garnell - October 12, 2002 |

The eastern end of M-50 is at M-125 in downtown Monroe, just south of the Raisin River. There is an interesting arrangement for the shields here. Each of the M-50 ENDS, NORTH M-125, and SOUTH M-125 shields has been assigned to its own lamp post. At its eastern terminus, M-50 is split up between two one-way streets. Eastbound M-50 follows First Street, while westbound M-50 follows Front Street. PHOTO # 1: Dan Garnell - October 1, 2002 |

Motorists going northbound on M-125 will come across this unusual JCT assembly just before the First Street (eastbound M-50) intersection, which features shields of not only the intersecting route, but also of the route the assembly stands on. This sort of JCT assembly can be found at certain junctions of state highways in the Monroe and Ann Arbor vicinities primarily. The through arrow plate that stands beneath the shields denotes that the turnoff for westbound M-50 is not until the Front Street intersection. PHOTO # 3: Dan Garnell - December 13, 2002 |
A similar JCT assembly appears on southbound M-125, although in this case, it stands in front of the Elm Avenue (Old M-50) intersection, which is before the Raisin River crossing. That is why a through arrow plate has been placed beneath the shields here, too. PHOTO # 4: Dan Garnell - October 1, 2002 |

Until 1996, M-50 continued beyond its current terminus by crossing the Raisin RIver with M-125, then following Elm Avenue and Dixie Highway up to an end at I-75. Consequently, a JCT M-125 shield stands on westbound Elm Avenue as it approaches the M-125 intersection, followed by an assembly with both M-50 and M-125 shields. Elm Avenue intersects M-125 1 block north of the start of westbound M-50, though across the Raisin River from it. PHOTO # 6: Dan Garnell - December 13, 2002 |

M-50 formerly ended at the Dixie Highway interchange (Exit 15) off of I-75. Here is the perspective of the interchange from what was eastbound M-50. In 1996, M-50 was truncated back to M-125 in downtown Monroe. PHOTO # 1: Dan Garnell - December 13, 2002 |
