Michigan Route 44

M-45 >

Western Terminus: M-37 @ M-11, Kentwood, Kent County. | Eastern Terminus: US 131, N of Ionia, Ionia County.

Western Terminus

From 1969 until 1977, M-44 traveled concurrently with M-37 through the eastern end of Grand Rapids for 4 miles from I-96 (Exit 38) to M-11.  There, M-44 arrived at its western terminus, while M-37 continued south toward Hastings and Battle Creek.  In 1977, M-44 was truncated back to end at the aforementioned interchange with I-96.

However, in 2003, in conjunction with a sign rehabilitation project along M-37, the M-44 designation was restored to the point of its 1969-1977 western terminus at the junction of M-37 and M-11 in Kentwood.
