Western Terminus: I-75/US 23 @ US 10, west of Bay City, Bay County. | Southern Terminus: BL I-69/BL I-94, Port Huron, St. Clair County.

Western Terminus

The western terminus of M-25 is at a full cloverleaf interchange with I-75/US 23 (Exit 162A) near Bay City. As M-25 ends, US 10 begins its westward trek across the middle of the Lower Peninsula toward Ludington and the Lake Michigan Car Ferry. There is not an M-25 ENDS sign assembly present at this endpoint.

The first reassurance marker for M-25 East is complemented by the first BS I-75 East trailblazer. The Bay City BS I-75 is paired off with M-25 for its entire length of 3 miles before coming to an end at the junction of M-25 and M-84 near downtown.

This guide sign on US 10 East reminds drivers to continue straight ahead to follow M-25 as US 10 comes to an end at the I-75/US 23 interchange ahead.

Here is the scene on US 10 East as it transitions into M-25 at I-75/US 23. Although there is not an M-25 ENDS shield present westbound at this interchange, there is a pair of US 10 ENDS markers in the eastbound direction, one on either side of the roadway. The overpass behind the sign truss carries 3 Mile Road over US 10.

This is the exit signage for M-25 East on I-75/US 23 South. There is no mention of BS I-75 on this or any of the other guide signs for this interchange on I-75/US 23 in either direction.

Orientation Change

At the northern tip of the Thumb, in downtown Port Austin, M-25 changes from an east/west orientation to a north/south one. The intersection also serves as the northern terminus of M-53, which multiplexes with M-25 for its northernmost 0.5 mile. Until 1973, this intersection marked the eastern terminus of M-25, as the existing north/south portion of M-25 was then the northernmost leg of US 25. When US 25 was scaled back to end at the Ohio/Kentucky State Line in 1973, M-25 was extended to Port Huron.

Southern Terminus

The southern terminus of M-25 is at BL I-69/BL I-94 in Port Huron, near the common eastern terminus for I-69 and I-94 at the Blue Water Bridges, which connect to ON 402 at Sarnia, Ontario. Note that the terminus signage for M-25 here does not involve an MDOT standard ENDS tab. Rather, an END tab has been placed beneath the SOUTH M-25 shield.

Meanwhile, the beginning of M-25 North is marked with a BEGIN tab atop an M-25 North shield. BEGIN tabs are seldom used in Michigan to denote the starting point of a route.
