Michigan Route 168 |
|
Western Terminus: Former Ann Arbor Railroad Ferry Docks, Elberta, Benzie County. | Eastern Terminus: M-22, Elberta, Benzie County. |
| Decades ago, several short spur routes
were commissioned to connect various ferry docks on Lakes Huron and Michigan
with the rest of the state highway system. M-168 is the last remaining one
of these "old school" routes, as all others have long since disappeared.
M-168 connected to the Ann Arbor Railroad ferry docks to M-22 in Elberta.
The ferry has long since fallen by the wayside, but M-168 has hung in there.
Today, M-168 serves the Elberta municipal beach on Lake Michigan, as it
straddles the southern shore of Betsie Lake. |
