| Western Terminus |
The western end of the M-14 freeway is at a partial interchange with I-94 in the western part of Ann Arbor, where access is provided only from westbound M-14 to westbound I-94 and from eastbound I-94 to eastbound M-14. To acknowledge the one movement westbound M-14 has at this interchange, this JCT WEST I-94 / M-14 ENDS sign assembly has been erected. PHOTO # 1: Rich Rowland - April 24, 2002 |
This overhead sign gantry on eastbound I-94 holds a diagrammic sign for the movement of traffic at the upcoming I-94 / M-14 split, 0.25 mile ahead. PHOTO # 2: Dan Garnell - July 19, 2002 |
| Eastern Terminus |
The eastern terminus of M-14 is at an interchange with I-96 and I-275 in Plymouth. Michael took this shot of the interchange from underneath the Haggerty Road overpass. It features the deceleration lane for the ramp from eastbound M-14 to southbound I-275 at the eastern terminus of M-14. There was formerly an M-14 ENDS sign at approximately the point where the EXIT 30 MPH sign is now prior to re-construction in 2001. Now, there is no such signage. These bridges carry I-275 across M-14. The left guide sign on the bridge should have an I-96 shield on it, as I-96 merges in beyond the I-275 overpasses. I-96 cuts across the northeastern part of the interchange, coming off of a multiplex with I-275 from the north. PHOTO # 2: BT14 - July 31, 2002 |
This shot shows the divergence of the loop ramp to westbound I-96 / northbound I-275 from eastbound M-14. M-14 continues until eastbound I-96 merges in. The bridge which carries eastbound I-96 over westbound M-14 can be seen on the left side of this picture. PHOTO # 3: Michael Swope - July 4, 2002 |
Overhead signage for the upcoming I-96 / M-14 interchange can be found on northbound I-275, 1 mile south of the interchange, on the Ann Arbor Trail overpass. PHOTO # 4: Dan Garnell - October 22, 2002 |
Here is the sign bridge on northbound I-275 just before the exit ramp to I-96 / M-14. The ramp is actually a collector / distributor lane that feeds the exit ramps to eastbound I-96 and westbound M-14, respectively, as well as collects the entrance ramp from eastbound M-14, before merging back into northbound I-275 prior to the merge of westbound I-96.
