M-97
LENGTH: 17.2 miles
SOUTHERN TERMINUS: M-3, Detroit

Here is a small guide sign acknowledging M-97 on southbound M-3 in northeast Detroit, at the south end of M-97. There is no M-97 ENDS signage present, and in fact, overall, most of the reassurance markers in this area are either very old (1960s cutout shields), or nonexistent. In fact, if you are going northbound on M-3, there is no indication that M-97 even comes in at this intersection!
NORTHERN TERMINUS: M-59, 1 mile north of Mount Clemens

This M-97 ENDS assembly at M-59. Since M-59 is now a divided highway in this area (it was not prior to reconstruction in 1998), a "Michigan left" is required to access westbound M-59 from northbound M-97. This is why there is only a right arrow underneath the M-59 shield on the assembly shown above. But, this is not the only ENDS sign for M-97 at this intersection...
There is also a second ENDS sign for M-97 in the median of M-59!

Note, however, that here, the placement of the ENDS tab is above the M-97 marker instead of below it.
