Prior to the coming of the US 10 freeway,
M-30 continued south of Sanford along Meridian Rd. before coming to an
end at M-46 on
the Gratiot/Saginaw County Line west of Merrill. According to Phil,
although M-30 was truncated back to the US 10 freeway in 1962, more
than 40 years later, a number of locals still refer to Meridian Rd. as
"M-30." This photo shows the historic southern end of M-30, looking
