Michigan Route 179 |

Western Terminus:
US 131 (Exit
61), Bradley, Allegan County. |
| Commissioned in 1999, M-179 came about as a result of M.D.O.T.'s short-lived Rationalization initiative. Designated by M.D.O.T. as a Recreational Heritage Route for its entire length, M-179 follows the former stretch of County Designated Highway A-42 east of US 131. A-42 west of US 131 is still in place. |

131 freeway (Exit 61) in Bradley. A-42, which picks up where M-179 leaves off, turns left immediately
after the US 131 South on-ramp onto a road which parallels the freeway
for about a mile before turning west toward Hopkins. PHOTO # 1: Barry Camp, 4/25/2003. |
