Michigan Route 115

M-116 >

Southern Terminus: BUS US 10/BUS US 127, Clare, Clare County. | Western Terminus: M-22, Frankfort, Benzie County.

M-115 serves as a major route for traffic heading from the southern and central portions of Michigan to the northwestern corner of the Lower Peninsula.  The route travels in a northwest-southeast fashion, and signage along the way is somewhat inconsistent.  For the most part, M-115 is signed as an east-west highway.  However, in the Clare vicinity, M-115 is signed north-south.  The terminus listings on this page reflect how the route is signed in the field.

Southern Terminus

The southern terminus of M-115 is at BUS US 10/BUS US 127 in downtown Clare.  At the intersection, BUS US 10 East is straight ahead, BUS US 127 South goes to the right, and the multiplex of BUS US 10 West and BUS US 127 North is accessible via a left turn.  This intersection has served as M-115's southern terminus since 1989, as well as prior to 1975.  In the fourteen years in between, M-115 was routed onto the US 10 freeway north of Clare to end at the northern interchange between US 10 and US 27 (now US 127).  M-115 was re-instated along its original route into downtown Clare in 1989.  US 10 is, however, alternatively signed as TO M-115 from US 127.

Western Terminus

The northern terminus of M-115 is at M-22 in Frankfort, less than a mile north of the eastern terminus of the short M-168. As M-115 ends, M-22 North continues straight ahead, while M-22 South is accessed by a left turn
