The I-96 Business Spur in Portland
follows the former routing of US 16 along Grand River Avenue from
I-96 northwest into downtown, where it comes to an end at Kent
Street. Note that BS I-96 could easily become BL I-96 by
extending it west another two miles along Grand River Avenue to
I-96 at Exit 73.

The western
terminus of BS I-96 is in downtown Portland, at the
intersection of Grand River Avenue and Kent Street. In
the background is the Grand River Avenue crossing of the
river for which it is named.

BS I-96 comes
to an end in the eastbound direction when it meets I-96
at Exit 77, just southeast of Portland.
