Southern Terminus: I-75, Sault Ste. Marie, Chippewa County. | Northern Terminus: Sugar Island Ferry Docks, southeast of Sault Ste. Marie, Chippewa County.

About BS I-75 Sault Ste. Marie

Until the late 1980s, BS I-75 ended in downtown Sault Ste. Marie at Portage Avenue. At that time, BS I-75 was extended eastward along Portage Avenue to the Sugar Island Ferry Docks, where it currently ends.

Southern Terminus

The southern terminus of BS I-75 is at I-75 (Exit 392) in Sault Ste. Marie. This interchange marks the second to last exit before I-75 North comes to an end at the International Bridge, which connects to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Consequently, Canada is listed as the control destination for I-75 North at the BS I-75 interchange. Rather than a BS I-75 ENDS shield marking the southern end of the route, the BS I-75 ENDS reference appears on the directional guide sign for I-75 South, which is accessible via a loop ramp on the other side of the bridge.
