U.S. Business Route 23 (Fenton)

Length: 1.5 miles | Western Terminus: US-23 (Exit 79), western Fenton | Eastern Terminus: Leroy Street, downtown Fenton

The Business US-23 that serves Fenton is a spur route, which follows Silver Lake Road from US-23 to Leroy Street in downtown. Previously, Business US-23 was a loop route that returned to US-23 via Leroy Street, Shiawassee Street, and Owen Road. These are now un-numbered, state-maintained roadways.

Western Terminus

Interestingly, as the US-23 freeway approaches Exit 79, which marks the western terminus of the Fenton Business US-23, there is no mention whatsoever of Business US-23. It is not until the exit ramps for Silver Lake Road that Business US-23 shields finally appear. This is the Business US-23 shield present on the off-ramp from northbound US-23.

There is a Business US-23 ENDS sign present at the western terminus. If you can get a photo of this sign, or of any additional perspectives of this terminus, please contact Dan.

Eastern Terminus

The eastern terminus of Business US-23 is at Leroy Street in downtown Fenton. Not only is there a Business US-23 ENDS shield present at this endpoint, but also a TO I-75 shield. I-75 is located 6 miles east of here via Grange Hall Road, which meets Leroy Street one block north of this intersection, just across the railroad tracks.
