The photograph of the eastern end of US Route 278 shows the view of the South Carolina state line as it is approached from the Georgia side. The bridge is over the Savannah River, and as you can see, the northbound/eastbound lanes were under construction at the time this picture was taken in the summer of 2003. The first western end photograph shows the view looking into Alabama at the end of US 278. The second photograph shows a wider shot of the same view. The third photograph shows the view looking back into Georgia from the Alabama side. The fourth photograph shows the first reassurance markers for GA 6 and US 278. |
