Background Information

The first eastern end photograph does not show the actual end of US 82, which lies some six miles to the east, but it is where the last reassurance markers for the route are posted.  The photograph was taken on northbound I-95 at exit 29 (old exit 6).  The eastern end of the federal route is actually where GA 520 splits from US 17 and GA 25 at the beginning of the Jekyll Island Causeway, which is depicted in the second photograph.  It was taken from GA 520 westbound as US 82 begins.
