Background Information

The first former eastern end photograph alerts drivers that I-520 ends in 3/4 of a mile, and that will remain true until a bridge is built over the Savannah River to carry the road into South Carolina. The second photograph is of the BGS for the last exit, and the third photograph shows the current stub end of the freeway.

The first western end photograph is on I-20 westbound at exit 196, which is also the end for GA Route 232. The second photograph is the END signage for I-520, as well as the first GA 232 reassurance shield. The third photograph is the beginning signage for I-520, as well as the eastern end of GA 232. The fourth photograph was taken from I-20 eastbound at exit 196.
