Background Information (north end information courtesy of Dan Rose)

The first photograph shows the north end of GA 400.  It ends at GA 60 near Dahlonega.  The two-lane road in the background is the GA 115 eastbound.  GA 400 and GA 115 share a common end at GA 60.  The second photograph shows the beginning of GA 400 southbound.  The traffic in the background is using GA 60, and I’m looking northbound.  Dahlonega is just a few miles up that road.  The third photograph shows the “junction” sign for U.S. 19/GA 400 on GA 60 southbound.  The fourth photograph is the first sign on GA 400 southbound.  It’s a mileage sign that shows how far away Atlanta is.  The fifth photograph shows the first highway marker on GA 400 southbound.  They made an error by placing the Georgia state route marker before the U.S. route marker.

The first two southern end photographs were taken from I-85 northbound.  The third and fourth photographs show the actual END signage on GA 400 southbound, with the fourth photograph showing the END signage in detail.  (Note the word ‘TOLL’ in the GA 400 reassurance shields.)
