Background Information (most eastern end information courtesy of Dan Rose)

The first eastern end photograph of GA 316 (taken at night) was taken just after the bridge over GA 10 LOOP.  The second photograph shows guide signs on GA 316 eastbound as it approaches the Athens Perimeter.  GA 316 reaches its east end about a half-mile after these signs.  The third photograph shows the east end of GA 316 (during the day).  The road in the background is Epps Bridge Parkway, which eventually takes you to Atlanta Highway.  In the past five years, this area has exploded with development, thanks to its proximity to the Athens Perimeter and GA 316, as well as the widening of Epps Bridge Parkway and lower taxes in Oconee County.  The fourth photograph shows the first sign for GA 316 westbound.  The tethers holding up this set of signs are the same as those holding up the “END 316” sign in the picture prior.  The fifth photograph shows GA 316 westbound about a mile from its east end, just west of Jimmy Daniel Road.  An exit for U.S. 78 westbound is about a half-mile ahead in this picture.

The western end photograph of GA 316 shows the beginning of the eastbound road from northbound I-85.
