The photographs of the southern end of GA 193 are grouped into the four directions approaching the intersection where the highway ends. The first four photographs were taken on GA 193, successively closer to its southern end point. The fifth photograph was taken from GA 136 westbound, where it turns north to join GA 1/US 27. The sixth and seventh photographs were taken at the beginning of GA 193 after crossing GA 1/US 27. The eighth photograph is from GA 1/US 27 southbound approaching GA 193's southern end. Finally, the ninth and tenth photographs were taken on GA 1/US 27 northbound. The historic southern end of GA 193 was at the former GA 1/US 27, but when the roads were moved to a new alignment to the east of town, the original routing was redesignated BUS GA 1/BUS US 27. The two photographs of the historic southern end document this point, where GA 193 now turns north to form a wrong-way multiplex for a few blocks before it continues east to it's present-day terminus. The sign assembly in the second photograph can be seen in the background of the first one. |
