The first eastern end photograph shows the east end of GA 53 in Watkinsville. The road in the foreground is Business U.S. 129/Business U.S. 441, which takes you through Watkinsville's business district. The second picture shows the first sign for GA 53 westbound, almost a mile west of its east end. The pair of overpasses in the background is the Watkinsville Bypass, which carries U.S. 129 and U.S. 441 around the west edge of town. Just up the road from here is Gainesville College's Oconee Campus, as well as Butler's Crossing, which is an area experiencing rapid development. |
